Pre-Crime as a sign of a totally protective government
1) A totally "protective" government is one that has all of the power so that they are able to look out for the citizens in their society. They believe they have the people's best interests at hand and go to extreme lengths to implement this protection in peoples lives. This term is shown in Pre-Crime as a whole. When it plans on going national per the governments allowance, they are able to see when murders are going to happen and prevent them, but Pre-Crime also exists in a society that is completely ruled by eye scanners and it seems as though no one has any privacy but society is tailored to each person individually and protects them, but this gives the government a huge amount of power over the people which can be used to "protect" them or work against the people.
2) I do not think that our society should have a totally protective government because no one should have total control or power even if it is going to be used in the people's best interest. Pre-Crime presents a system that supposedly eliminates murder which can be argued is a positive in society but to have this, people give up their minds to the government whether it is willingly or not and that is way to much power for a centralized government to have.
3) Had a totally protective government been in place, many shootings that have happened would not have taken place. The government would have been able to foresee it through Pre-Crime
and protect the victims.

Minority Report Blog Post
1. Pre-Crime as a sign of a totally protective government
In the case of the movie, I believe that a protective government is a government in which they are actively trying to maintain control over the population and limit the amount of 'harm' they can do to themselves. This is best shown through the Pre-Crime program, the government in this world has set up a system that allows it to maintain control over its residing population by preventing murders before they take place.
2.
I don't believe that the government should implement a system like this. Although the intentions behind stopping murders are great the pathway and actions that the government takes to get there are not ethical. The advantage of having fewer murders would come at the expense of our most personal means of privacy.
3.
By the premise of Pre-Crime itself, it would be safe to say that any murder that has been in the news or that has ever happened could have been prevented had we had this system in place. Again, this would have come at the cost of the privacy of every individual on the planet but it would have also left all of those victims alive.
Maya Wallace- Minority Report
Concept: Pre-Crime as a sign of a totally protective government.
A totally protective government is one that has high security to ensure safety, and in this society uses impressive technology to protect society. They have a tight, accurate, and efficient society which terminates crime at the cost of invading people's natural rights. No, a totally protective government should not be apart of our current society. Our society loves our freedom and may not be willing to sacrifice their privacy for a totally protective government. A totally protective government could have been used to find El Chapo when he was on the run. The scanning of irises and the 'spiders' that do so could have been used to track him down faster. The warm body technology which is used to sense how many people are in an area would be helpful to to find him in hiding.

Pre-Crime as a totally protective government
Pre-Crime as a sign of a totally protective government
A protective government is when the government has a lot of safety protocols to make sure that everyone is safe. Also, a protective government makes sure that everyone has the things they need so everyone is okay. This was present in Minority Report because a representative came from the government to make sure that there weren’t any flaws in pre-crime.
A protective government should be in our world today because then a lot of people would get the things they need. Additionally, it would decrease the rate of crimes in the United States.
If this had been in place, people wouldn’t have been involved in the shooting in Pittsburgh because the government would make sure that you had to be checked out before you could enter the synagogue.

In my opinion I think Marcus Lemonis is better because he helps people by changing their business and making it better for them. He gives good advice and helps them build up their business. He helps by making their product popular. He helps by making people learn how to grow their business. He helps saving business. He covers the 5 P’s. He takes over you business and Improve it. I’ll work with Marcus Lemonis because he will help me grow my product and make better things for me to sell my product and make people like my product. He will say what’s good and what’s wrong with my product.
Sam Marshall
With my company, NYFCo., a brand new successful company focused on our innovative technology within our fitness clothing, for us the best option would be the Shark Tank option. More specifically, Mark Cuban. Our company is already partnered with Daymond John so we are already marketed by the Brooklyn Nets. I chose to partner with Mark Cuban to access his connections with the Dallas Mavericks and hopefully in the future his other sports connections. With our company being successful and just in the growth/introductory phase, it is more important to receive the extra help or boost given by the sharks than the sort of restart given my Marcus Lemonis. The major difference between the sharks and Marcus Lemonis is the fact that Lemonis wants to own a close to 50% of the company. But with this 50%, he will not only obtain most of the leadership of the company and flip the course of the business, but he will upgrade everything in and about the business. The Sharks are more behind the scenes players. They handle money and investments and improving connections. Marcus Lemonis is not afraid to get his hands dirty and experience the work ethic of the company. The sharks sit on their high chairs and mainly look over everything. Lemonis will change the entire business model where the sharks are more of an extra boost, which is what my company could use.
Shark Tank vs Profit - Mateo Hain
The better investor seems to be Marcus Lemonis. Lemonis uses his expertise to fix businesses and set them on the right track. For businesses who don't excel at business strategy, he can really help them fix the flaws with their process. Lemonis's strategy teaches the business owners new things, sets them on the right track to succeed in the future. Shark Tank investors don't want to spend their time guiding businesses, they want equity for their investment and want to keep their hands relatively clean. However, I think that the person that could benefit my product, the Survivalist Jacket, the most is Daymond John with Shark Tank. He can help me grow my product off of his name and his brand. If I can get a few tips for manufacturing clothing, I can make my profit margin better, and then use Daymond's connections in retail to sell my product. Lemonis is different from the Shark Tank investors because he chooses to take over businesses for a large amount of equity. He brings new ideas, and manages the staff, basically as a partner. The Sharks can make suggestions and bring connections but they stay away from the management of the business. The Sharks tend to take much less equity from companies, as well as invest a bit less money.
liam riefke skark vs marcus lemonis
I think marcus lemonis because he tells you what to do better and how to do it better. Marcus lemonis is more hands on than sharks because he comes and sees the place and can tell you how you can improve on your company. I would rather work with marcus lemonis because he invest, improves and helps advertise your company to get more people. The difference between the sharks and marcus lemonis is that he makes a big impact on the company also he puts the company in a place that has a lot of people around and the sharks invest but they are usually never there and just want to take over your company rather than just split the profit.
jeremiah
I think that shark tank is a better format for an entrepreneur because you have more than one person that could help you and all you need to know is the basic information about your product.the difference between Marcus and the cast from shark tank is Marcus is only one person and if he didn't want to help you would be stuck with trying to make your business bigger. and with shark tank you have multiple people that are interested in investing in your company for as long as you stay in business. Marcus will only stay for a little while leaving you to hope your business takes off. From what i seen Marcus just puts in an investment then ask for a certain amount of ownership then in shark tank they invest get a certain amount of ownership and give more resources for the product to be known around the world.
Maya Weiss: Shark Tank v. Marcus Lemonis
I personally believe that the investors on Shark Tank would be better to work with because the investors on Shark Tank usually invest in new businesses that are looking to expand and grow. Considering that our product is a food creation and delivery service, we would be looking to have and investor to give us money to expand, and not to fix or change our business and how it is run. Marcus Lemonis works with failing businesses, which ours is not. The biggest difference between Marcus Lemonis and the investors on Shark Tank is that Marcus is a business partner, who is also investing in the company, and is looking to take over the company for a period of time and completely change it, whereas on the investors on Shark Tank invest money and expect to get a certain amount out but they are not as hands on with changing the actual business or product. Out of the investors on Shark Tank, I would want to work with Daymond John because he started his own very successful business, FUBU, and he had invested in businesses in the past on Shark Tank which have been successful.
Grant King

Shark tank would be the better choice for our brand (NYCFco). For the product Sam Marshall and I designed we would benefit more if we had an investor like Mark Cuban. Our fitness clothing brand endorsed by Jay Z and Mark Cuban would greatly benefit out product in the long run. Mark Cuban owns the Dallas Mavericks, an NBA team. Basketball has a lot to do with fitness and if Cuban could get his players to promote our fitness clothes that would boost our gross profit indefinitely. Marcus Lemonis is an investor that comes into a business to take it over and help turn the company around for the better. As it currently stands, we do not have any physical stores or need our company to be turned around for the better. In the future it might be beneficial to associate ourselves with Marcus Lemonis but as it stands Mark Cuban, a shark, would make our company reach a higher profit margin.
Tommy Tang- The Profit vs. Shark Tank
I believe that Marcus Lemonis is better. The reason is Marcus Lemonis not only gives you money but stays for one week to help build your company back up. I believe with my new product, and because I have no previous business experience, Marcus Lemonis would be a good person to work with. I believe that some of the sharks are shady, but I feel that Marcus gives solid advice and he isn’t too nice either. I believe that working with him will not only be beneficial but also educational. The difference between Shark Tank and Marcus Lemonis is that the sharks hears a entrepreneur product, their offer, and then decide whether or not they want to change the offer, take the offer, or not take the offer. Marcus Lemonis invests his own money into a company and then goes and help to turn their company around.
I think the investors on Shark Tank would be better for the success of the Outsider because of the connections they have and the money they can invest in the company. I think the best shark to work with would be Daymond John or Robert Herjavec. Daymond is the CEO of a popular clothing brand and obviously knows how to market articles of clothing and how the retail business works. Since the Outsider is a jacket he would be most helpful in giving tips on the ins and outs of retail. Robert would also be helpful with the technology part of the Outsider in helping us find the cheapest affordable ways to make the jacket work and continue selling. The Shark tank investors are different from Marcus Lemonis as the sharks will give you advice and help you get your dream or idea up off the ground where Marcus goes into a business you have already started and helps you rebuild the image of it all and get the company out of the red. Although Marcus is good at turning profit from failing company's he is not what would be best for the Outsider's success.

Adrian Wilburn - Rica Beauty
The shark tank format would be the most ideal space for me and my company to seek help from investors. The Shark Tank format would provide us with a more professional form of exposure for our more professional brand. Rica Beauty also sells products within stores and online retailers which is a platform the Sharks would be able to assist the company in best. The investor that would best suit or needs would be Lori Greiner. With the expertise that Lori brings in the space of retail she would help Rica Beauty expand into many different spaces, and markets that we are currently not familiar with. She would help us with the advertisement aspect of our business as-well as the marketing part of our business as she has shown incredible marketing skills during her time on QVC. Rica Beauty would also be open to a partnership between Lori and Daymound John if that opportunity became available. With Daymounds expertise in fashion he would be an asset to our company which focuses in the fashion market. He would also bring expertise in the manufacturing field, and provide us with connects that would hopefully make our manufacturing process more efficient where he sees there can be improvement. One major difference between the Sharks and Marcus Lemonis is the level of control they seek within the company. The Sharks look to assist your business more than control it, and Marcus looks to get in and control your business. We don't need anyone to control our business, but we are open to assistance and expertise in our specific field.
The shark vs. The Profit - Mason Stern
Overall I think Marcus lemonis is a better investor because of his on the ground style that really
invests him in the business, and is Ideal for most business. Though I think he's better overall i think for my investor I would choose one of the sharks, more specifically Robert Herjavec because of his experience in the technology sector and to help me get off the ground and give me tips to expand. I also don't think Marcus lemonis would be a good investor for me because of his lack of experience in my sector and how I won't be taking advantage of his strengths of helping storefronts more personally. Their difference between business strategies and how they make money is Is their involvement in the business, Marcus is in the business changing everything he thinks can be improved in order for him to make as much money as possible, while the sharks more watch from the sidelines giving tips to the business and letting their money that they have invested work for them.

The "sharks" on Shark Tank are better investors because of their diversity as well more options to see your company or product grow in different directions. Shark tank is a better option for me and my company because they offer more financial support as well as more contacts for retail. While Marcus Lemonis has a lot to offer, he likes to get involved and take over the company he is investing in for a period of time. This would not be a good fit for my company because my business partner and I already have our plans laid out and don't want to give up 50 percent of our company. The main difference between the too is the amount of equity that is given. The sharks offer money for a smaller part of the company while Lemonis is trying to take over the entire company. For these reasons, The sharks would be a better option for my company than Lemonis.
Shark Tank v. Marcus Lemonis (Luke Meyer)
I think the Sharks on Shark Tank will be a larger benefit to my business product The Outsider. Although Marcus Lemonis physically goes to companies to improve their revenue, my product The Outsider does not have a store. Mark Cuban, one of the deadliest sharks on Shark Tank tank can give me a large amount of money in which I can use to promote advertisement through television, social media, and billboards. Marcus Lemonis gives companies money and becomes very involved in the business with the goal of helping it grow. Through helping the business grow with new and developing ideas, Lemonis receives profit over time, whereas Mark Cuban is a source of immediate profit for a business because he gives them money right up front. Cuban makes his choice if he wants to invest in a company or has nothing to do with it in less than an hour, but Lemonis observes a company from the inside over time. Mark Cuban is the best investor because he is king of closing the deal. About 31% of contestants who succeeded on TV made a solo or group deal with him. Cuban's also the best shark for going through with on-air deals, and on top of that, his terms rarely change. My product revenue will increase through advertisement with funding from Mark Cuban to make it possible.
Jack Reynolds
I believe that Shark Tank is a better investor for me. For the product that I designed, a perfume endorsed by Rihanna and Jessica Alba, Lori Greiner would be the best fit investor for me. She is commonly known as "the Queen of QVC", an American cable, satellite and broadcast television network, and flagship shopping channel specializing in televised home shopping. By partnering with Lori Greiner, she would be able to vastly market my product increasing public interest, resulting in sales and revenue increase. Marcus Lemonis is an investor that comes in and takes over business, physical locations, in order to turn the company around and save jobs as well as make money. This would not work for my business as I do not have a physical location or store, and so Marcus would not be able to help me. On the other hand, Lori Greiner would be able to get my product in stores and help to market and advertise my perfume.
Maya Wallace- Shark Tank vs The Profit
In my opinion Marcus Lemonis is the better investor. Unlike the Sharks, he is not part of your business long term. He writes you a loan and gets your business up and running in a week. You get to learn from him on how to manage your business to be successful long term and by yourself. Marcus is more helpful in services though, and the Sharks are better for products. I would prefer to work with the sharks because they will always be in my corner for advice and as a mentor. Preferably Laurie Greiner because she can show my product on QVC and she works with similar products for similar demographics and psychographics. Marcus Lemonis funds by first writing a check, then once after your company is renewed, he will get paid back by some of the profits. Sharks on Shark Tank have you pitch your idea, then decide if they want to invest. They will pay a portion of what your company is worth, and that portion should be equivalent to how much stake they have in your company. They look to make their money back, and potentially more by profits from your business as well.
Amelia Crowe
Shark Tank would be the correct angle for our company to participate in because of the valuable advice they could potentially give us. Between the investors of Shark Tank and the single investor Marcus Lemonis, our brand would better improve from the investors of Shark Tank. We are currently in the position where an elevator pitch and meeting would be very beneficial, our business has not yet blown up completely. We would not be able to provide the space where Marcus could fix a company that is in need of help because we are the owners of an idea and brand new company. I think the investor Lori Greiner is someone we would hope to work with because of her experience in retail and her success in creating new/fresh products. The product we have developed is fresh and the demographics are inclusive which makes it attractive and I think she would be able to represent that image or at least be open to learning more about it. One major difference between Shark Tank and The Profit is the fact that Marcus Lemonis finds broken down companies and becomes a partner that gives a check in order to pay off losses, rather than being a consultant. The profit is in charge of an already ̈functioning ̈ company for a week and takes charge, where Shark Tank listens to ideas and decides whether it sounds good enough for them to invest in. Shark Tank investors decide how much of a company they want to have (take ownership in) and they base how much they want to invest depending on first impressions.
Addy Galich - Shark Tank vs. The Profit
I personally do not think there is one definitive answer to the question “Which investor is better” when comparing Marcus Lemoins vs. The Sharks on Shark Tank. Instead I think both have their strengths and weaknesses in different categories. In my opinion, The Sharks are better for new businesses that need investors to help fund the start up of their business to make it a reality. The sharks are also good with behind the scenes aspects such as investments and connections, so if you are a newer company looking to expand and just need financial support or run an online business, the Sharks are what you need. Marcus Lemoins is good for fixing businesses that are in decline and have been in business for a while. He not only gives financial support but will show up at the door of your business and help you fix all aspects of your company. This is why Marcus is good for store-front businesses and mature businesses in decline. For my business, I would use the Sharks because it is new, doesn’t need a lot of fixing, and just needs the connections to get bigger. The sharks also offer more creative freedom in a way, by giving you the money and connections for a part of your company. All I am looking to do right now is expanding, so I would get help from a Shark and preferably Daymond John because he has been in the fashion business and can use his experience to help me and my company. He also started a clothing company from his basement which is similar to what we did and what we are doing. Marcus Lemoins is different from The Sharks when it comes to money as well, because he’s there to help you manage the money he invests and help you along the way. You get to see physical changes immediately with Marcus unlike The Sharks.
Ascher Levin - Shark Tank vs. The Profit
I would rather go to Shark Tank than The Profit because they have a lot of different types of people that I could work with. Also, in Shark Tank, the investors only have a small share of the company so they don’t decide everything that I will do like Marcus Lemonis does. Additionally, the sharks seem like they have more experience and they are really good at turning good businesses into great ones. I would want to work with a guest shark, Richard Branson, because he worked with another meditation app called Simple Habit and it is doing really well right now. Also, Richard Branson is a very positive and innovative person so that would help my product. Shark Tank and Marcus Lemonis are very different because Lemonis tries to take over your business and spends his own money to improve your business. Shark Tank’s investors have people who they work with to help you and they try to help you to make your business the best it can be.
Darlene Gordon
I like Shark Tank better than Marcus Lemonis because it
simulates the pressure of having to pitch one’s idea to a group of angel
investors. I’d rather work with someone
like Mark Cuban because I believe that he really supports entrepreneurs who are
working under his supervision in ways that the other sharks and Marcus Lemonis
do not. One major way in the funding it
that on Shark Tank, entrepreneurs are forced to value their company at a
certain level before they are able to pitch their idea to the sharks. Also, on Shark Tank, the five sharks really
want an equity stake in the entrepreneurs’ companies and that is made very
clear right from the top; it is essentially what the entrepreneurs are signing
up for (in return for a monetary investment) when they agree to come on Shark
Tank.
Marcus Lemonis is the more Trustworthy investor! By Chauncy Wadsworth
Though the Sharks may seem enticing, Marcus Lemonis is a better and more trustworthy entrepreneur. One reason is that he shows his investing strategies in his show which are not shown by the Sharks. Marcus’s strategy emphasizes three of the 5 p’s of marketing: people, product and placement. He has shown these strategies in multiple episodes, for example, when he was working on Car Cash he rebranded the company and gave it new advertising. This is an example of Placement, making your product look ideal to your target market. Marcus is also clearly in the process to work with the people to make money, instead of just working to make money for himself. This is illustrated in his show where he works with people in their failing businesses, though he may take over the company, the owners always know that they will have their company back when it is all over. However, the Sharks are all billionaires, who are mainly there for their own self interest. One example of how trustworthy Marcus is, is in the episode Sweet Pete’s, Marcus chose to help the people who had put in the work, the time and the money and chose not to help the greedy investor who had done very little to help. In conclusion, Marcus is a better investor for my company because we need someone who knows advertising and placement strategy which are things that my bussiness will need. Marcus also showcases his strategy on his show, unlike the Sharks, who though successful, their skills are less known. All in all Marcus is a more trustworthy investor than the Sharks, and that is who I would want to work with to raise my company.

Amena Alexander Shark Tank vs. Profit Period 5
For my business, I would rather have the profit because I want hands on work
and with the profit he does that and he also gets to know more about what
i'm actually doing and how I actually feel about my business and how much
work I put into my business, rather than with Shark Tank just taking a part of my business
and giving me money, with the hands on way I get to know more about the person i'm giving
a percent of my business also which is important to me.
